Operation 60623 is a community-driven initiative committed to supporting individuals and families in need throughout the North Lawndale community. Our mission is to provide essential resources, including food, clothing, and daily necessities such as diapers, hygiene products, school uniforms, and back-to-school supplies.
We also connect residents with vital information and services, including access to shelters, food pantries, and job training programs. Throughout the year, Operation 60623 hosts multiple outdoor community engagement events designed to unite residents and strengthen neighborhood connections.
Our signature events—Community United and Youth Explosion—have each successfully engaged more than 100 participants. Additionally, we collaborate closely with the Chicago Police Department’s 11th District, whose officers actively participate in our events to foster positive relationships with returning citizens, youth, and seniors.
In 2021, Operation 60623 provided meals to more than 700 community members and partnered with healthcare providers to host multiple vaccination clinics, helping residents access critical vaccinations.
We are also proud to announce our partnership with the Chicago Furniture Bank. Through this collaboration, we are now able to provide furniture to low-income families who would otherwise be unable to afford it. Eligible families may receive furniture based on household size, helping to create safe, comfortable, and dignified living environments.
